Christmas Decorating 2010

I dread November when we pull down all the boxes from the attic and begin to decorate, but once it's finished, I love the cozy glow around the house.  As the new year approaches, then I dread giving up all my warm decorations.  So, one last look before they go.

Since we have this large sunroom which we converted to a dining room, we have room for a tree at one end of the dining room.  This year it is the white tree.

I love using my Cabin in the Woods dishes during the season.  I use them till the end of January.

Over the years, my husband received many out-doored themed ornaments.  We also have a skinny tree in our family room next to our fireplace and it has become the home of all of his ornaments.  Each ornament reflects his love of the outdoors and all it has to offer.  The fireplace is dark because it's 60 degrees in Nashville today!

I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday season with family and friends.

My family.

I have a crazy family.  Nuff said!

Christmas specs create an effect when you look at points of light.

Hope you had as much fun as we did.

Christmas Memories 2010

I am so fortunate to have this wonderful sunny room for dining. It provides beautiful light for my table. I am also fortunate to have my husband's grandmother's tables, both the dining table and the dropleaf against the window. When needed I can seat about 20. The dining table sat for years in Mama's dining room in Memphis feeding family, farmhands, and friends. She had no air conditioning so the varnish on the chairs melted in the hot and humid Memphis summer and I found threads left behind over the years embedded in the varnish when I refinished.

Found the wonderful trees at Walmart of all places!

The china is Lenox Maywood, Gorham silver, Shannon crystal water glasses. The votives are Orrefors crystal. Merry Christmas to all.
