I'll Have a Blue Christmas

All the dishaholics out there will appreciate this.  Back in Oct, I spotted a great set of 8 dishes at Home Goods, put them in my cart, walked around the store for 30 min, talked myself out of buying anything new, and I put them back.  Of course, for weeks after, all I thought about was what I could do with those dishes.   When I went back, of course, they were gone.  I started looking at other Home Goods and found a few here, a few there, a few in Montgomery.  All in all, it took about 8 trips to get that full set back!  Lesson Learned:  - TRUST YOUR INSTINCTS!
Even better than I imagined!

Trees from Old Time Pottery.

New dishes required a new tree and all new ornaments and wrapping paper.  This tree was a bargain, $39 at Walmart with lights already on it!

White and Red and Fun All Over!

Saturday night we went to our annual Christmas dinner at the Scott's.  It is a grown-up evening with great friends, excellent food and incredible design all around.
Suzanne always does an amazing job with the table and this was no exception.
The pictures aren't the best quality because I forgot my camera and had to resort to using my phone, although I am actually pleasantly surprised at the quality.

She painted the candelabras and the chargers.

Thanksgiving x 2

We were invited to join friends in Destin, FL this year for Thanksgiving.  How can you pass up friends in FL  when it's below freezing in TN?  This meant my family's turkey day was moved up a week.  It actually worked out perfectly b/c family members that usually can't come, we able to join us, but it meant simplifying my table do I had time to cook, clean, and pack.

I kept the centerpiece I already had from a previous table and just changed up the place settings.

The table all set for 12! Decided to just use a small table for the extra 3 rather than pulling out the drop leaf table.

Hubby and me spent the month of October gathering and bleaching leaves.

Destin Thanksgiving
I know it looks like Christmas, but that's b/c our friends that own the condo go back to AZ for the holiday and she wanted to enjoy her Christmas decorations here before they left.  Loved it!

All the goodies we each brought to share.

More bleached leaves

Bob cooked the best turkey I have ever eaten!  Then we hit all the sales, spent all our money and drove home with our loaded sleigh!  So great to spend time with good friends.
