Changing Landscape

We live in the city, but our street is unique; very large lots with horses, cows and donkeys.  We don't have those animals or a large lot, but do have wonderful wildlife in the woods on the side of our house.  We have a red fox family, a owl, blue birds, racoons, and the occasional whitetail deer.  It's nice to have some of the natural environment right next to the house, but also have the benefits of living in a neighborhood (even if the raccoon empties our bird feeders as son as we fill them up!).  I thought I would share the transformation of the view around our house and down the street as the season changed this year.

Christmas Morning 2010
We had several snowfalls this year, but since we live on a hill, that always leads to stranded cars.  The view from my craft room window about 6:30 AM.  Needless to say, I didn't try to drive that day!
In our backyard, we have path at the top of the woods that leads to a garden area.
The magnolia in the front yard is so pretty with the snow.

This is one of the fox family members.  He is scoping out a dead blackbird.

The view down the street during the May flood last year.   This is normally a very tiny creek, but with the flood, it became a raging river.  We were glad this day that we lived on top of the hill!

Just after a wild thunderstorm last summer, the sky  and the light across our woods turned a strange shade of pink.
I couldn't really capture the color until I tried the flash.  I have never seen the sky this color before.
A beautiful winter sunset.

I'm so glad that spring is here!  I hope it has arrived where you live, or that it's at least around the corner.    Happy to be linking to Seasonal Sundays and Susan's Metamorphosis Monday
