All Around the House and Gaden

My dear friend Janie will have a special Thanksgiving this year.  She will be entertaining her son's, girlfriend's family. To get ready, she asked me to help her come up with a table design.  We pulled out her Grandmother's china, took cues from the china, things we found in her house and on a quick run around the garden.  I think it turned out well, what do you think?
Her dining room is perfect for entertaining and just lovely.

We did an recon mission around the house to find things.  The Pee Gee Hydrangea from the trees outside her kitchen was just the perfect color.  The cake plate was in the corner china cabinet.  The dried fruit wreath was hanging over the kitchen sink.
The china is from Atlas China Co.   It was her Grandmother's, but there was no pattern name.
The bubble glass hurricanes were on the living room mantle.

It was fun to do a table and use things we found in and outside of the house.  Come and see all the lovely sights at Tablescape Thursday.

  2. The table is lovely and ready to welcome the family of their son's girlfriend. I think it is charming and not overdone....just warm and inviting. The mirror runner in the center of the table gives everything a great reflection, too. I am so sentimental, and love the fact that your friend is using her grandmother's dishes! Being a "Granna" myself, this makes me hope that someday my grandsons and their future wives will use my china with love.
