Today I ran to the Nashville Farmer's market to pick up peaches to make preserves. I just love the displays that show off the framer's best fruits of their labor. The colors, the scents, the HEAT!!! Heat index was 101 today and after 10 minutes, I was drenched. I brought home peaches, okra, tomatoes, squash and giant watermelon. I will be busy this weekend!

Wow, what a bounty of fresh produce! Going to the Farmer's Market is a favorite Saturday event here. ;-)
ReplyDeleteThis produce looks fantastic! You are so lucky to have this close to home. I'd make a couple of pies with those blackberries and peaches!
ReplyDeleteYou should NeVeR have posted about buying peaches and making preserves....You do know this was a mistake, don't you? Your peach preserves are the best I have ever put in my mouth. Everything else you took pictures of and commented about sounds delish.. but you had me at Peaches!
ReplyDeleteThere is nothing like freshly picked produce...the farmer's market is my favorite place to go in the summer. Great photos Dianne!
ReplyDeleteThis looks divine and your photos are spectacular. I haven't been to a single market yet this year -- I am going to have to remedy that. I think the rain and cooler spring has delayed a lot.
ReplyDeleteWow! that's a big farmer's market. Everything looks so good!
ReplyDeleteGosh...I can smell it all from here!!! Nothing like rows and rows and rows of fresh!!! I'm looking at those tomatoes and thinkin' now that fried green tomatoes is on the menu for tomorrow! :-) The corn looks beautiful, too!!!!!
ReplyDeleteI love farmers markets, in fact, went to ours in Camden yesterday and loaded up. BTW. my daughter recently moved to Franklin and I've been with her several times to the market there. I'm betting it is similar to Nashville.
ReplyDeleteDiane, your photos are making me drool...especially those SOUTHERN PEACHES!!! I don't know why our silly grocery stores here in Ohio insist on bringing in CA peaches. Your's are so much better, I think. Our local trees won't be ready for another month. *sigh* I'll have to enjoy yours instead.
ReplyDeleteWow! Those produce look so fresh. I love farmers markets...Christine
