The Apple of My Eye

Fall is here!  The leaves are turning and the temps are dropping.  Apples smell like fall to me. My husband (who is the apple of my eye!) eats at least one apple a day, so I always have a good supply in the house so I thought I would put them to use before they made their way to the lunch cooler.
He will just have to wait a day before he can dig in.
I started with a knit runner I picked up at a thrift store in Destin.  It felt like a cotton knit sweater, but I found out it was all synthetic.  It was wrinkled and when I tried to touch it up with hot iron, it melted!  I still love the texture it brings to the table.

Love the weight of these candlesticks.

The salad included Grilled Romaine with marinated Red Onions, Applewood Smoked Bacon and home made Blue Cheese Buttermilk Dressing.  It was awesome!  Served with Catalan Beef Stew, Foccacia, Mashed Potato Casserole, Roasted Carrots and of course, Apple Dumplings for dessert!

  10. Oh Dianne, your menu sounds wonderful! I love your warm, cozy table and your whole dining room looks so pretty. I'm a big fan of live plants as they add such a fresh feel to a room. The room looks especially pretty all aglow in the evening.

  11. I absolutely love your table. I am partial to gingham to begin with, but I love how you've paired it with plaid and solids and I especially love the gingham ribbon dancing through the centerpiece. A beautiful job! Rosie
