Iceberg Inspiration

After my return from Alaska, I planned a dinner party with friends and family to share photos.
Inspiration for the table came from the blue of the icebergs we saw floating by and the snow on the granite mountaintops.
Chickens from Home Goods, paired with hydrangea under glass.
Dishes from Dillards on 75% clearance.  Cambrige flatware, and napkins from Old Time Pottery.
Water goblets from Target last year.  They are plastic, but I still managed to break one!
Placemats from Home Goods, chargers from World Market.
Bumble bee napkin rings were a gift from my friend CeCe at N Your Dreams.

Candlesticks from Ross and glass globes on top from Home Goods.  I can use the globes with other candlesticks and they protect the table from drips and cast a beautiful glow on the table.  I have several sets in different colors.

Sassafras bark compliments of my sweet hubby.  I think the bark mimicks the pattern of the chicken feathers.  I try to use an outdoor elements often.

Now that my Alaska photos are organized, I will be posting them at Alma's Friday party Oh, the places I've been
My orchid decided to join the party.
Menu:
Pear Slices with Pancetta, Goat Cheese and Honey
Watermelon & Feta Salad
Lemon, Thyme Grilled Chicken
Zucchini with Lemon Zest
Potato Salad
Homemade Foccacia
Mixed Berry Cobbler

So happy to be joining the following parties:

  7. OK, first I have to say that I love the hydrangea under glass. I tried to do that here, but it just didn't look as pretty. I guess it was the shape of my cloche.

As to the rest of the table, I really love it. The browns and blues are beautiful together, and I love so many elements. Those bee shaped napkin rings are adorable.

(And HOW did you break a plastic glass? Never mind. I could do it too...) Hope you bought extras because I really like the look of them.

  13. Another beautiful table and I love the color of the orbs....it has been a favorite color since we started work on the beach place. I must also say I would have never known the goblets were plastic! I know the dinner party was a big hit, as usual. YUM!
