I found the center candle holder on clearance at Home Goods and thought it would look great with my white candelabras I picked up on a recent shopping trip to the Classy Flea in Marietta, GA. I added the frosted votive holders.
I zipped into the back yard and cut a few dogwood branches to use as "perches" for my birds. I find dogwood to be great for the table because of the short multiple branches. The red glass berries are from the old Smith and Hawken store. Each berry has a tiny flexible wire that I wrap around the branch. I straighten out the wire with my jewelry pliers after each use. I saw this year, that Target had these again in the Smith and Hawken section, but they only had the clear.
I found the glassware at Old Time Pottery a few months ago and they still have them and in different colors too.
The napkins rings were on clearance at World Market.
The players:
Placemats - Old Time Pottery - years ago
Chargers- Walmart
Dishes - Mikasa Antique White
White Flatware - Walmart
Polka Dot Glasses - Old Time Pottery
Napkins - Old Time Pottery
Cardinals - Michaels (I added alligator clips)
Happy January Y'all. Come join the parties at Tablescape Thursday and Seasonal Sundays and much thanks to the hostesses.
I love living here in GA where we do have cardinals year round. They are also one of my favorite birds. Love this tablescape. Beautiful centerpiece! Winter white and bright red, gorgeous. hugs, Linda
ReplyDeleteGood morning, Dianne! I'm not sure that we get cardinals year-round here in the Kansas City, Mo. area. I think they just make their appearance around winter time. (Although maybe they're around longer than that as the state has the St. Louis Cardinals baseball team. There must be a reason they named them that even though our state bird is a bluebird!) They are one of the most beautiful birds ever, though! I love to see them with all their brilliant color! It's so great that you get to enjoy them year-round, especially on the pretty table you have created to celebrate them!
ReplyDeleteLove It! Beautiful table! Love the birds and the red. Thanks for sharing Joann
ReplyDeleteI have never seen a cardinal in Utah. What a wonderful spectacular bird. I love the centerpiece -- those candelabras are something special. Love the red and white. Joni
ReplyDeleteSaw many cardinals last winter when it was dreadfully cold. not so many this year. Oh your table is wonderful!! Good tip on what branches to use, now i know why mine never work. I love your centerpiece. It's so stunning. xo marlis

I love cardinals. However we don't have them in Nova Scotia, Canada. I wish we did. Your red and white table is so pretty. Love your white birds as well.
ReplyDeleteWhat a delightful table! It really celebrates the cardinal. I didn't know they aren't seen everywhere, either! Your centerpiece is truly fabulous -- the birds on branches add a wonderful touch! And those glasses are charming! I wish we had that store over here. I have a sister who lives in Nashville, too. Hmmm. Maybe I'll send her on a mission!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful, beautiful table...cardinals are one of my favorite birds, we get to watch them year around. I used white and red this week, too.
ReplyDeleteI love cardinals too...we have a Mr. and Mrs. who dine at our feeder. Your table is beautiful for "non-feathereds" to enjoy! This looks like a perfect red and white winter table.
ReplyDeleteI posted a piece with cardinals...hope you can stop by and see them.
WOW! Cardinal---love it!
ReplyDeleteI have the same candleholder and I love it too.
All pieces are absolute beautiful and the motives are my fave.
Happy TS...

Lots of blogs featuring the amazing cardinals this week. Your tables cape is wonderful. If you add some heart, it could be a 'love bird' table for Valentines Day. I really like it! Thanks for inviting us for a peak. Cherry Kay
ReplyDeleteDianne, You are making me wish I had not gotten rid of most of my dishes!!!! Lovely table!
ReplyDeleteWhen I saw the first full length picture of your table, I said "Wow!" outloud. The white and red really pops with the pine table and other elements in your room. I'm so envious that you live close enough to visit the Classy Flea because I want everything I see Susan posts that comes from there! And the prices seem really reasonable. Thanks for posting! ~CJ
ReplyDeleteHow beautiful, Dianne! I had no idea that when I moved this far west, we would have no cardinals and no lightning bugs. I miss them both! Your red and white theme is so dramatic! The centerpiece is very whimsical, and the napkin rings are adorable! The whole tablescape is wonderful!
