Dish Inventory

Pssstt..... come peek in my dish closet.
My sweet husband converted a linen closet into this awesome dish closet.  He put a strand of lights around the door that come on when the door opens.  He does little things like that all the time and it makes me so happy.
I have been taking inventory of all my stuff for insurance purposes so I have spent this week taking photos of all the dishes, linens, crafting, gemstones and findings and crafting tools.  I won't bore you will those specific photos, but to celebrate the Tablescaper's 3rd anniversary, here's part of where everything is stored.

After converting the linen closet, which I promptly filled, he offered to convert one side of the walk-in guest room closet.  The closet is about 5 feet deep and had a rod on your left and right as you walked in.  I placed a large storage unit in the center and hubby converted one side into shelves, leaving the other side with a rod for guests clothing (for now).   This closet houses all my table decorations, candle sticks, platters, vases, cloches, and glassware.

My husband Grandfather's old desk in the guest room is home to most of my candles and napkins rings.

Other chests in the guest and dining rooms from our collective Grandmothers provides storage for more napkins, tablecloths and placemats.

Just wondering if any of you have thought about what might happen if you had to make a claim on your homeowners insurance for all your precious collections?  I have been assured by my agent that they will pay for the home contents up to the limits we set, but I am very antsy about it since I have so much stuff that a normal homeowner wouldn't have.  I mean, how many people would make a claims for the collections we all have?  My plan is to take photos of all my dish, paper crafting, gemstones etc., so I have proof to back up the numbers I would turn in if something unfortunate were to happen.   If any of you have thought about this and have a solution please pass it on to me.
Happy third anniversary to the Tablescaper and thank you hosting Seasonal Sundays!

A Few Vintage Pieces

Come join me on the deck for a quiet moment accented with some lovely old pieces.  I started with a beautiful tablecloth on clearance from Macy's.  Please forgive me for not ironing it.
Crystal water glasses are Dublin by Shannon.  The wine glasses are also Shannon, but I don't know the pattern name.  They were a gift from a dear friend.
The placemats and napkins were a gift from my MIL.  She bought them in Austria years ago and she was so generous to gift them to me. The dishes were also a Christmas surprise from my MIL.  You can read about that  HERE.  They are 1940 Bavarian and the pattern is Wild Flower.

The silver plate flatware comes from a set that my sweet husband brought home when a client was going throw them away.  He grabbed them with plans them to use for target practice!  I rescued them as soon as I saw them.  The pattern is Fashion Lane by Alvin.
The candle sticks are from French Bleu Vintage.  It's one of my favorite places to browse.

The vase is from the Queen of Hearts in Atlanta.  The blooms are Endless Summer hydrangeas.
I realized while a was running trying to take photos between the bright sun and the clouds, that I had forgotten the blue birds so I added them for the last few shots.

I so appreciate your visit and comments. Thanks for joining me, I will be joining the following parties:
