Dinner Surprise

My sweet husband surprised me when I came home tonight with a romantic intimate dinner table that he did all by himself.
I was also surprised he was able to find anything to put together a table considering I have stuff stashed in hiding places all over the house.
He used the lovely matching crystal vases I found in an antique mall in Escondido, CA last week, he filled them with beautiful pink tulips and I hardly even noticed that the price tag was still stuck on the glass :)
How did he know that red and turquoise is one my favorite color combinations?  He added a handmade card and a perfect shrimp cocktail.

  1. Your husband did a fabulous job!! Those vases are just beautiful.

    Happy Valentines Day!

  2. I'd say your husband got Valentine's Day perfectly! Love those pink tulips!

  3. I would say you have a great husband for doing that! So sweet, pretty and romantic! Nice!

  4. How incredibly sweet!!!! The fact that he knew your favorite color combo proves that he is actually paying attention. What a winner!!! He picked great flowers, too!!!

  5. Awe...I am a sucker for a romantic guy! This was incredibly sweet, and quite brave to create a tablescape for a tablescaper! He gets an A for effort and an A+ for execution! I'm sure your dinner was lovely!

  6. Your husband sounds like a keeper! He made a lovely table and I love the pink tulips!

  7. Any husband that does that is a keeper!

  8. I just read your post to my sweet husband ...
He already knew Thom had surprised Suzanne...
To tell you the truth, I can't imagine what the table would look like if he arranged it. Last night I asked him to turn on the oven... He turned it onto cook but did not set the oven temperature... Our ovens are old ones.. not touchscreen!
Anyway, Randy took it well that he had been outdone in the presentation arena... His card was lovely ( looked hand crafted..Hallmark is copying ust! )and we ate where I requested. :)

  9. I think you have a Keeper! Like you really needed me to corroborate that, I am sure!

Thanks so much for reading and commenting regarding my magazine addiction. I should have mentioned that I have a lot of old Bon Appetit, Gourmet, and Cooks, too!

  10. What a great surprise from your Valentine!! He certainly pays great attention to detail and did a wonderful job!!

  11. A truly lovely table.. love the tulips in those gorgeous vases! I think your husband wins the biggest prize! xo marlis
