Clear Bleu Vintage

I don't know about you, but lately I have been obsessed with these placemats with the cork backs.  They are just so easy to use and even easier to clean. 

When I spotted these at Home Goods, I knew I didn't want to cover up the pattern.

The Fleur de Lis chargers from Dillard's allow the design on the placemats to show through. 

Clear glass dishes from Classy Flea in Atlanta.  Small square plates were a gift from my dear friend Suzanne.

I hit the napkin jackpot on Black Friday last year.  All the hemstitch napkins at World Market were $.99 each.  I bought a dozen each in several different colors. Silver plate goblets were found at a thrift store in Colorado. Colorado has some amazing thrifting.

I love the patina on these old candlesticks.  The square pair were found at Round Top, TX and the curvy ones came from French Bleu Vintage. 

I found the burlap runner on clearance at Home Goods, but it was embroidered with large green shamrocks.  Took me about 5 hours, but I got them all removed.  I should have taken a before picture!

After a cold, rainy Saturday, the light at sunset really surprised me.  As the storms moved out to the West, the clouds began to break in the East throwing a surprising soft light on the table.  I am used to seeing the morning light come from the East with the sunrise, but not late in the afternoon.

Cherry Blossom Time

When we moved into our home 8 years ago, my husband planted some baby cherry trees down our less than attractive driveway.  They didn't look like much the first few years, but now they are coming into their own.

A few days before the buds exploded into pink, my husband asked, "When are you going to do a cherry blossom table?".  

I really didn't think I had anything that worked, but one night after bootcamp, the sun was streaming into the dining room and I got inspired.  I ran around and collected several things that I didn't know what I do with when I purchased, but turned out to be perfect for this table.  My sweetie cut the branches and  Pussy Willow for the vase. 

Handmade glass candlesticks were a gift from my MIL.

Celebrating Easter

I hoped to get this posted before Easter, but with the theft of both of my cameras, (you can read about that disaster HERE) I had to wait until  a replacement arrived.  My son came for Easter dinner and took additional pictures with his camera.  You will probably notice that my son takes much better photos than I do!

It was time to pull out the Alfred Meaken Medway China found in Atlanta at The Classy Flea several years ago.  The delicate runner and woven placements are from Home Goods. 

Glassware is Cindy Crawford from OPT and the lanterns are from Pier 1. 

Cute vintage bunnies are from Queen of Hearts in Atlanta.

Twine ribbon from Micheals wrapped around a chippy wire pot holder from The Classy Flea holding some herbs and a Rabbit's Foot Fern in honor of the holiday.

My son started his photo taking with Punkin, who chose to survey all the Easter goings-on from the his comfy perch.  He took the rest of the photos in this post. 

My son became obsessed with capturing the blue hour reflected in the plates.  I spared you the 20 other shots of the same thing.  

Carved geese from the Queen of Hearts.  I just love how he captured them against the window and the blue light.  I also love how the bay tree in background blends with the outside trees making it hard to tell if it's inside or out.  

I hope your Easter was as blessed as mine, surrounded by my family.
