All Around the House and Gaden

My dear friend Janie will have a special Thanksgiving this year.  She will be entertaining her son's, girlfriend's family. To get ready, she asked me to help her come up with a table design.  We pulled out her Grandmother's china, took cues from the china, things we found in her house and on a quick run around the garden.  I think it turned out well, what do you think?
Her dining room is perfect for entertaining and just lovely.

We did an recon mission around the house to find things.  The Pee Gee Hydrangea from the trees outside her kitchen was just the perfect color.  The cake plate was in the corner china cabinet.  The dried fruit wreath was hanging over the kitchen sink.
The china is from Atlas China Co.   It was her Grandmother's, but there was no pattern name.
The bubble glass hurricanes were on the living room mantle.

It was fun to do a table and use things we found in and outside of the house.  Come and see all the lovely sights at Tablescape Thursday.

Cotton-Eyed Candy

You may have seen (or are sick of seeing) all my previous posts from Round Top Tx.  Now I get to show you what I bought for me!
My Johnson Brothers pitcher and bowl.  I just love the soft lines.

The cotton was "donated" by a farmer somewhere near the AR and TN border.  Promise you won't tell.  Didn't know this, but cotton continues to open.

The runner is cut from a bolt of handwoven linen used to make flour sacks.  It came from the mountains in Austria.

This is Anna and her wonderful store in Warrenton TX, filled with jaw-dropping handmade imported linens that she brings back from her home country of Austria each year.  I have more from her to share in the future.
Love these candlesticks from Home Goods.  Just walked by clearance and there they were, waiting for me.

A contribution from my husband's recent scouting trip in the woods.

Probably one of my favorite purchases.  French crystal knife rests from Marberger Farm.  So inexpensive, I couldn't resist.
Cambridge flatware from Ross.  Can't beat Ross prices.

Mikasa Antique White paired with Mikasa Gourmet Basics Brava

Chargers from Save Alot on Crafts.com.  Great source for cool stuff.

Punkin thinks I can't see him leaving his fuzzy hair all over the chairs!   Come join the party at Susan's Tablescape Thursdays

Round Top Round Up - The Good, the Bad, and the Weird!

We had so much fun on our antiquing trip to Texas.  In spite of the miserable heat, we were out in the fields everyday seeing all the vendors had to offer.
Old clawfoot tub made into a chaise lounge occupied by sweet CeCe (traveling buddy #1) from nyourdreams.
Tahlula knew how to keep cool.  She parked herself in front of a large fan and let her ears blow in the wind!

Decor at Magnolia Pearl's.  I don't want to insult anyone, but to me, these women look like pirate wenches.

"I think I will just try out this display here"
This was at the top of the list of the most beautiful things I saw.  I wanted it, but it was way over what was left of my budget by the time I saw it on the last night.  sigh.....

My dear friend and traveling buddy #2 Suzanne
Buttons anyone?

We had a wonderful, fun time in and around Round Top and I am really looking forward to going back again.  If you have always wanted to go, don't wait, GO!  It's totally worth it.   I will share some of my purchases in my next post.    Thanks for visiting and join me at the party at Seasonal Sundays
