I couldn't for the life of me figure out what to do for my husband's birthday this weekend, but after a talk with his Mom, it was decided that we would attempt to pull off a surprise trip to the Philadelphia Flower Show; the largest in the country. I made all the arrangements about six days ago, but the big question was, "would my hubby really go?". He just finished two Nashville Garden shows and the weather is warm here and when the weather warms, that's the signal for his phone to start ringing off the hook. I rarely see him from March to July because he is so busy. We have always wanted to go to the "big show", but it was too difficult to tear him away. Since this was a surprise, we all had to wait till last weekend's family dinner to find out that he was totally surprised and excited to go.
Having no clue about the Philadelphia area, I chose a hotel in Cherry Hill, NJ and decided we would figure it all out when we got there!
We arrived late Thurs night, grabbed our rental car and headed for NJ. Friday AM we headed to the train station and met two sweet sisters who were on their way for their annual show pilgrimage. They took us under their wings and we arrived without getting lost or on the wrong train. Thank goodness, because I would have hated missing even one second of the experience of "Springtime in Paris". Here is a taste of what we spent thirteen hours saying "ooh and ahh" over.

This is just a taste. I have some wonderful tablescape gardens (who knew?), some jewelry made from plants, shadow gardens, and some amazing miniature gardens to share in future posts so stayed tuned. I am linking to Seasonal Sundays and Metamorphasis Monday
Thanks for the tour! I can't wait to see the tablescape gardens! Linda
